CA Veterans groups: the Yellow Ribbon America organization is putting on an event at the State Capitol on July 12, 2007 to honor California's Iraq and Afghanistan Purple Heart recipients and to also recognize the 225th anniversary of the Purple Heart Award.

Their mission statement is:
Americans United in giving direct help and support to our Nations Military and their Families.

* We will provide the national framework to organize America's cities and towns, to deliver immediate and direct support to our numerous deployed military personnel, and their families, who are left behind.
* The yellow ribbon symbolizes our commitment to honoring those of our military brethren, who are proudly serving around the globe, those who have fallen, and those who are missing.
