Sen. Moran, An Excellent Choice to Lead Senate Appropriations Subcommittee

(Washington, DC)---"Vietnam Veterans of America is very pleased with the recent news that Senator Jerry Moran has been selected to chair the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies," said John Rowan, VVA National President. "Having worked closely with the honorable senator from Kansas and his excellent staff to enact the toxic exposure research legislation, we know him to be a man who cares deeply about our nation's veterans and their families, and about the myriad health issues afflicting too many of our brother and sister veterans of all eras.

"Senator Moran, who also serves on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, will play a key role in ensuring that programs and processes at the Department of Veterans Affairs will get the funding needed to make them truly efficient and effective, in fulfillment of the mission of the VA, to care for those who have served in uniform and their families.

"We look forward to working with Senator Moran and his staff on those legislative priorities affecting veterans who have been deployed to combat zones from Korea to Vietnam to Afghanistan and Iraq," Rowan said.
