Gov. Schwarzenegger Issues Statement on Death of Camp Pendleton Marine

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today released the following statement regarding the death of Staff Sgt. Aaron J. Taylor of Bovey, Minnesota:

“Maria and I were saddened to learn of the death of Staff Sergeant Aaron Taylor. His commitment to serve America and willingness to lay down his life to protect the freedoms we enjoy will forever be remembered and appreciated. We send our thoughts and prayers to Aaron’s family, friends and fellow Marines during this difficult time.”

Taylor, 27, died October 9 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Taylor was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, U.S. Marine Corps, Camp Pendleton, California.

In honor of Staff Sgt. Taylor, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
