Governor Appoints Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator for CalVet Barstow Veterans Home

Sacramento – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced on November 26, 2014, that James Sullivan, 45, of Mesquite, was appointed skilled nursing facility (SNF) administrator at our California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) Veterans Home in Barstow.

“CalVet proudly welcomes our new SNF Administrator to Barstow,” stated Undersecretary of the Veterans Homes of California Diane Vanderpot. “Mr. Sullivan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I am confident his addition allows us to continue offering the high level of care our Veterans expect in our skilled nursing programs.”

Sullivan was the administrator at Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center from 2008 to 2014. He held several positions at Trinity Mission Wide Horizons Residential Care Facility from 1994 to 2005, including program director, qualified mental retardation professional and therapeutic recreation technician.

The Veterans Home of California, Barstow is a 220-bed, long-term care facility located in Southern California‘s high desert. The Veterans Home was opened in February, 1996.
