New Administrator Sworn in at Barstow Veterans Home

Barstow – The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is proudly announces that Arthur Robles, of Yucaipa, was sworn in as the administrator of the Veterans Home of California – Barstow. The oath of office was administered during a ceremony at the Veterans Home on Friday, March 27, 2015. Friends and family were on hand to welcome him back to the position at the Home.

“We are elated to have Art return as the administrator in Barstow,” stated Diane Vanderpot, CalVet’s Undersecretary for Veterans Homes. “He has a proven track record and is committed to providing the highest level of care to each of our residents.”

Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. appointed Robles on Friday, February 28, 2015. This is not a new role for Robles, who was the administrator in Barstow from 2010 to 2012 and has served as acting administrator since June 2014.

Robles joined CalVet in 2000 as an assistant hospital administrator, a position he also held from 2009 to 2010. Robles has also held positions with the California Department of Public Health and the California Department of Social Services. Robles is an Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion.
