BACKGROUND:
“The Last Journey…a Father and Son in Wartime” is a compelling read; son Skip began his journal on his first tour of Iraq with a Stryker battalion in 2004. Returning in 2006 with another Stryker battalion he continued his chronology of war. When he was killed, his father vowed to complete “Skip’s” book. He endured the gauntlet of red tape to travel to Iraq and imbed within the Stryker battalion interviewing his company commander, his platoon and General Petraeus who assisted so well in this journey.
