The new AVVA472.org web site will be on line when you read this. It will of course link to the main site: vva472.org here in San Diego.

It is obvious, the site directed by the young advocates of the AVVA will in turn continue the legacy of the Vietnam veteran well into mid century. They believe it is fitting to do so. Who better but the families and friends of the veterans to not forget who we were and what we did. Our web master will assist any Chapter with direction on setting up inexpensive sites. All you have to do is ask. email: sangleysailor57@aol.com The 472 highly recommend the AVVA's have their own voice on the web; all in conjunction with their VVA's.

VETERAN OF THE YEAR SAN DIEGO COUNTY LUNCHEON will be held November 5, 2011 in Mission Valley, San Diego. Sponsored by the Veterans Museum & Memorial Center it will honor over 40 veterans for their community service with one Veteran being honored as the Veteran of the Year. Contact the VMMC for tickets and information.

The Annual San Diego City Veterans Parade will be held at 11am on Friday, November 11. It is viewed by over 40 thousand citizens in the downtown area of the city. There will be a tree planting of some 600 trees in Florida Canyon, San Diego on Sunday, November 13. Each tree will be tagged with the name of a veteran from the San Diego area. Many volunteers are needed to assist the Veterans Museum and Memorialin this endeavor and information is available from vmmc.events@pacbell.net

Chapter 472 will participate in a Las Vegas Texas Hold'em tournament first week of June 2012. It is a veterans directed tournament and players are welcome to join us. Details: vva472.org, the Chapter's new updated web site. Take a look.

The Chapter will host a Christmas Party on December 10th. Traditionally, the Chapter adopts a family to honor. This year, the patriotic Kister Family (of eight) will be honored for their community service to the veteran and community at large.
