Jesse Ugalde, Past California Department of Veterans Affairs Director
Has Entered Eternal Life
It is with great sadness that the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) joins the family of Jesse Ugalde, past Director of the California Department of Veterans Affairs from 1985 to 1991, in mourning his passing. Ugalde was 89 years old.
“On behalf of the California Department of Veterans Affairs, I offer my sincere condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Jesse Ugalde, who passed away Sunday afternoon,” said Peter J. Gravett, Secretary, California Department of Veterans Affairs. “We are saddened by his passing, but are thankful for his service on behalf of our veterans. We are grateful for his valiant service to our country during his military service, to our state as Director of the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and to his community where he served as the Chairman for the Veteran Memorial Center, Inc. located in San Diego, CA, Chairman of the Veterans Memorial Park Committee, and Chairman of the Veterans Cemeteries Committee. His service and sacrifices will not be forgotten. May he forever rest in peace.”
