2nd Annual Orange County Stand Down for homeless Veterans
COSTA MESA ARMY RESERVE CENTER, 17,18,19 August

We need volunteers and donations at the 2nd Annual Orange County Stand Down for homeless Veterans.
It is a three-day event in which the region’s homeless and at-risk veterans and their families can access basic services,
bond with their fellow veterans and start rebuilding lives.

A ‘city’ of secure shelters (aka: tents and cots with bedrolls) is erected for 72 hours and some of the services provided include:

Medical/Dental/Vision/Podiatry Exams
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling
Legal Assistance
Veterans & Social Security Benefits
Hot Meals
Showers and Hair Cuts
Clothing & Hygiene Kits
Education Aid
Employment Assistance
Children’s Tent

No matter what your personal political views might be regarding this or other wars, I think we can all agree that we have a responsibility
to assure those who have served have their basic human needs met. An area you can assist me in this effort is by helping provide a total
250 Small Bath towels and 150 wash clothes. They can be new or used and donations of any amount are very much appreciated and will help us meet our goal.

We will have a box for Donations in our offices…Contact Rena Drake if you have any questions…
