CDVA ANNOUNCES ANNUAL VETFUND VETERANS DAY GOLF TOURNAMENT
 
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) is once again holding their Annual VetFund Veterans Day Golf Tournament.  The VetFund Tournament is a Veterans Day event and will be held on Friday, November 2nd, at the Mather Golf Club, located at the Mather Air Field in Sacramento.
 
The Tournament will have a shotgun start at 10:00 am, with registration at 9:00 am, and a putting contest at 9:15 am. Lunch and an Awards Ceremony will follow.  The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, brunch and a day of fun. Everyone who supports veterans is invited to participate.
 
“This will be our fifth tournament in support of VetFund. Everyone who participates has a great time,” stated CDVA Secretary Tom Johnson. “More importantly, the VetFund Golf Tournament is a Veterans Day event where anyone can get involved and support our troops and our veterans.”
 
The VetFund, which was launched by CDVA Secretary Tom Johnson, provides funding for special projects of CDVA. These projects range from repairs to veterans memorials and supporting programs for homeless veterans, to assisting the Department in providing education and outreach to veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
 
“California Veterans have many needs,” Johnson continued, “and we believe the public will be willing to assist us in providing for them. Donating to the VetFund offers every Californian an opportunity to give back to our veterans.”

VetFund of CDVA Seeks Sponsors For VETERANS on Veterans Day
 
So, you don’t play golf but want to support the VetFund efforts for our troops and veterans? The VetFund of CDVA (California Department of Veterans Affairs) is continuing its program of assisting young returning veterans to participate in the VetFund Veterans Day Golf Tournament with the help of the community. The VetFund Tournament is a Veterans Day event and will be held on Friday, November 2nd, at the Mather Golf Club, located in Sacramento, CA.
 
The veterans, for whom we are seeking community sponsorships, have served in the recent conflicts and are part of the California veteran’s community. These young veterans enjoy participating and the program offers a chance for the community to thank them for their service. Sponsorships can also assist any veteran of the sponsor’s choice.
 
“All of our veterans have provided a great service and if you have one you want to recognize, please feel free to sponsor them in this tournament,” stated Ron Brand, Executive Director of the VetFund. “The proceeds aid the veterans community and you will be showing your appreciation for their service. “
 
The number of sponsors is limited, so complete the sponsorship form located at the VetFund website, www.vetfund.cdva.ca.gov, and forward it to the VetFund today.  This year’s event is being held once again at the Mather Golf Club on Friday, November 2nd, 2007.  Lunch will be served and an awards ceremony will follow.
 
Sponsors will receive:  Prominently displayed signage announcing your organization as a sponsor, recognition at lunch and at the awards ceremony, and coverage in the program and post tournament advertisements. Sponsorships include a lunch for the veterans and the sponsors or two lunches if you chose to sponsor a foursome. Even if you do not play golf everyone is invited to join us for lunch.
