MIA Film - 3 Day Shoot Coming Up
I am writing to all I know because we truly need your help to complete a 3 day film "shoot" for the documentary film we are producing entitled
" A Solemn Promise, America's Missing in Action" - about the over 83,000 American Missing in Action still unaccounted for.
Why is this one shoot so important? Because it will provide the "bookend story" about an American hero who fought and died in North Korea on December 12, 1950 then his remains were later laid to rest in Hawaii because they couldn't be identified until after DNA was discovered and finally after 64 years, his family was notified and will be holding a funeral for him in Riverside National Cemetery on March 22, 2014. We will have 3 film crews there to cover the story to make sure we get all of it, including the arrival of his remains in a flag covered casket from Hawaii (his family is coming in from Colorado...those who are still alive) and there will be a funeral with full military honors. We will interview other Korean War veterans and his nephew who had been researching in depth for the whereabouts of his uncle since 1998...because he promised his grandmother on her death bed that he would never give up until he found her son (his Uncle), Corporal Cristobal Romo.
Corporal Romo's story and photograph can be found at the following "find-a-grave" site and you will see under the tab "Flowers" that I have included my comments about this American hero who is finally coming home (after 64 years). It is the one with "combat boots" at the beginning of the comments. I would also encourage you to write some comments for Cristobal as nearly all of his siblings have passed on...only one brother is left and he is 79 and not doing well...so please let them know that we, as Americans, thank him for his ultimate sacrifice.
Here is the link to his page:

Cristobal was also a Son of the American Revolution as his 3rd Great Grandfather fought against the English at Presidio of Santa Fe and Cristobal's family will also be given the Naval Presidential Unit Citation that his unit, the 31st Regiment of the 7th Infantry Division was awarded for saving the men of the 1st Marine Division at Chosin Reservoir...the award of Presidential Citation was not awarded until enemy interviews and documents proved that their actions saved the Marines... it was in 1999 - five decades after the action took place!
Finally, I am writing also to ask you to please take a moment to consider this. Our nation still has over 83,000 missing in action that are still unaccounted for since World War II.
Our film, "A Solemn Promise, America's Missing in Action" is an important film that every American should see.
