HIRE A HERO, HIRE A VET” JOB FAIR HELD IN SACRAMENTO
 
EVENT:   The California Department of Veterans Affairs, the California Employment Development Department, and the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency are hosting “Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” Job Fairs Bakersfield, Lancaster, and Sacramento.  Veterans are invited to meet with employers and service providers to learn about the resources, services, and opportunities available to them.

BACKGROUND:   These “Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job and resource fairs are three in a series of ten statewide designed as part of Governor Schwarzenegger’s initiative to open employment and education avenues for veterans.
 
“The Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job fairs create a rare opportunity for veterans to meet with employers who are ready to hire and public and private agencies eager to help with education, training, apprenticeships and other services.  A complete listing of “The Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job fairs is available at www.edd.ca.gov/eddjobfairevents.asp.
