Governor Schwarzenegger Issues Statement Regarding Death of Camp Pendleton Marine

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement regarding the death of Sgt. Michael W. Heede Jr. of Delta, PA:

“Maria and I were saddened to learn of the death of yet another American serving abroad. Sergeant Michael W. Heede Jr. will forever be remembered for his honorable and brave service to this country. We send our thoughts and prayers to all of Michael’s family, friends and fellow Marines as they cope with this difficult loss.”

Heede, 22, died July 13 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Heede was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, U.S. Marine Corps, Camp Pendleton, CA.

In honor of Sergeant Heede, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
