California Veterans Board Chair Alice Astafan Inducted Into Greater Sacramento Area Business Hall Of Fame
California Veterans Board Chair Alice Astafan has been selected as a Business Hall of Fame Laureate by the Junior Achievement of Sacramento. Ms. Astafan, Major General, USAF, Ret., serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Technology Center, which promotes economic development by facilitating technology transfer between government and the private sector, and by helping small businesses successfully compete for government contracts.
Induction of all Laureates will take place on May 7, 2009, during the 5th Annual Greater Sacramento Area Business Hall of Fame’s reception and dinner at The Arden Hills Country Club and Spas Resort.
At this event the business community will gather to honor the Business Hall of Fame Laureates. Prior to being given their award, each recipient will be introduced by a video vignette and by a Junior Achievement Student Ambassador, who will share their impressions of “his or her” Laureate. The Junior Achievement of Sacramento Board of Directors will also be present to honor the Laureates.
The purpose and intent of the Greater Sacramento Area Business Hall of Fame event is to honor prominent business leaders who have made extraordinary contributions to the Greater Sacramento Area, earned the respect of the local community and called attention to the Free Enterprise System and to its value to our community and citizens in shaping our local way of life.
The California Veterans Board serves as an advocate for Veterans affairs identifying needs and working to ensure and enhance the rights and benefits of California Veterans and their dependents.
